Cindy L. Weeks

I have been privileged to work alongside the Devonshire Parish Council since 2015 and was appointed into the position of Chairperson in January of 2018. Born and raised in Devonshire, my love for community service was the catalyst for wanting to do more for our amazing Parish. The Devonshire Parish Council consists of a dynamic and diverse group of individuals who remain committed to serving in and around the community. It is indeed a rewarding opportunity to work with such dedicated persons who genuinely care about the welfare of the Parish and its residents. In my personal role, I am married and the proud stepmom to four children and two beautiful granddaughters. Devonshire Parish – We look forward to one day serving you!

Cymone F. Sims

I accepted my appointed to the Devonshire Parish Council in January 2018 and was elected the position of Secretary for the Council. I have been a resident of Devonshire Parish for over 29 years. I am a mother to three young women, a grandmother to three grand daughters and a grand son. Before accepting the appointment to the council I first asked the MP exactly what is the council and what do they do and without any hesitation I accepted. My greatest reward is being able to serve the residents of Devonshire.

Chrislyn Dill

I have been a Member of the Devonshire Parish Council since 2018 and also a member of it’s Scholarship Committee. In 2019 I was elected the Council’s Treasurer. I have resided in Devonshire Parish for over twelve years with my husband and teenage daughter. I accepted the appointment to the Devonshire Parish Council because I wanted to contribute to my community and to help make a difference where and when possible.

Lateefah Caines

I was a recipient of the Devonshire Parish Scholarship program in 2015 and now I am the Assistant Secretary and the Scholarship Committee Chair of the Devonshire Parish Council. I have resided at the same Devonshire residence for 28 years. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 2016 and I am currently studying for the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. In 2018 I agreed to the appointment on the Devonshire Parish Council to be apart of a positive change and to give back to the Devonshire Parish Community.

Denelle Saunders

I was accepted into the Devonshire Parish Council in 2018 as a Council Member and am active on the Devonshire Parish Council Scholarship Committee. I was born and schooled in Devonshire Parish and most recently moved back as a resident since 2013. I am a mother of two adult sons. I was interested in the Devonshire Parish Council as a means to preserve the character of my residential neighborhood. I also wanted the opportunity to get a better understanding of our governing laws, policies and procedures whilst being able to serve the community.

Lovette Lovell

I am a retired Registered Nurse and became a member of the Devonshire Parish Council 2018. I have lived in Devonshire my entire life. I was eager to learn more about the function of parish councils and to contribute to the wellbeing of the community where I reside.

 

Delton Richards

I have lived in Devonshire Parish for over 40 years and have served on the Devonshire Parish Council since 2019. I was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the Bermuda KEMH Hospital. I have always had a passion to help persons less fortunate and over the years, I have volunteered at the former Pembroke Rest Home on Parson’s Road, Pembroke, the Bermuda KEMH Hospital and at the Mid Atlantic Wellness Hospital, formerly know as, St. Brendan’s. For many years I also fed the homeless and from this initiative I then went on to start a Hamper Drive in and around my neighboring community.

Sharon E. Lacey

Sharon Lacey has been a resident of Devonshire Parish for over 40 years. Sharon, a social worker retired after 11 years from the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute in Devonshire. She is known for her advocacy work on behalf of persons rights to access services and has not allowed her retirement from full time employment prevent her from utilizing her skills and knowledge. She has been assisting several of the elderly in her neighborhood by linking them to resources such as caregivers and financial assistance. She looks forward to serving on the Devonshire Parish Council representing the residents of Devonshire Parish.

John Steele

I grew up in Devonshire and lived in Bermuda for 32 years before moving to the US to build my career. I have been an IT professional for over 35 years, working first at the Bank of Bermuda and then in Texas and California for Apple Computer and Pearson International as a software engineer. I returned to the island in 2013 with my wife and two daughters and – probably because I have been away for so long – have a strong desire to give back to the community where I was raised.

Michelle Grant

A resident of Devonshire Parish for over 30 years, I was elated when appointed to Devonshire Parish Council as this is another mode for me to give back to the Parish. I am employed as a Programme Associate at Bermuda Community Foundation and an adjunct lecturer at the Bermuda College where I teach introductory level IT courses. I am also the Secretary to Wolves Sport Club. Married for eight years and mother of four children.

Cathy Wilson

I was appointed a Council member to serve on the Devonshire Parish Council on 1 April 2020. I was born and raised in Pembroke Parish, however I have been a resident of Devonshire Parish for the past eighteen years. I am a mother to two sons and grandmother of an eight-year old boy. I am looking forward to serving on the Devonshire Parish Council and giving back to my community.
